The XOOPS Development Team is pleased to announce the release of XOOPS 2.3.1 Final.
This release is mainly focused on bug fixes for XOOPS 2.3.0 release according to community feedback. A couple of bugs in upgrade scripts from 2.2 to 2.3 have been fixed, as well as profile field access problems. Debug information visibility has been improved according to community demands, debug information level is enabled as a temporary solution. Meanwhile XOOPS news aggregator has been improved for non UTF-8 charset websites, multiple feeds are enabled.
Please check the existing translations, and let us know about any problems. Also, if your language files are missing, please help us with the translation.
You can use the "lang_tool" module for it, which you can download from here, however, I've been told that it works only for ISO translations.
But we'll need both ISO and UTF-8 translations. You can save the ISO file as UTF-8 file using notepad++, but make sure that you select in "Format" menu, the "Convert to UTF-8 without BOM" option.

The XOOPS development team is looking forward to community feedbacks to reach a final release as soon as possible.
The WebShow module for the XOOPS content management system combines a media directory with Jeroen Wijering's JW Media Player to catalog and play Flash media files, directories and webfeeds. WebShow is also a web feed generator that will read and filter a media directory, generate an XSPF playlist and publish a web feed link.

Month of September was a very busy month for us - with new XOOPS 2.3being finally released!!!! The weeks ahead will be full of work for the XOOPS community, as we need test existing modules for compatibility with XOOPS 2.3. It was also another great month for new modules and themes and more and more Websites around the world successfully utilizing XOOPS. We salute all of XOOPS developers who develop new modules and themes and share them with the XOOPS Community!!!

We continue with the XOOPS Innovation Award - for people who create something very unique and innovative for XOOPS. This time the award goes to Christophe Capitaine (Burning) for his innovative Theme Gallery.
The "XOOPSer of the Month" is given to XOOPS members who show extraordinary dedication to XOOPS, and go the extra mile for XOOPS. This month we would like to recognize two community members: Gerard Vanderveken (Ghia) for his tireless support of XOOPS users, and Hossien Azizabadi (Voltan) for his support of the Persian community as well as XOOPS users here, and for his countless new cool themes .
This new section is a fusion of XOOPSLand and Xoops-Menu which offers to all xoopsers a wide range of great menus to use in their xoops website,also with support and help in the case of problem.
Also, XOOPSLand changes its look with a very light theme.
